Hymans Robertson has further strengthened its DC investment team with the appointment of Anthony Ellis as head of DC investment strategy.
Ellis will report into Alison Leslie who heads up the team. Ellis joined Hymans Robertson in 2009, having previously worked at Phoenix Group, Lloyds Banking Group and PWC.
He is an equity member in Hymans Roberston, and was instrumental in developing the firm’s DC investment proposition before moving to be the firm’s head of investment consultancy.
His new role marks a return to focusing explicitly on the DC market, where he will dedicate the majority of his time to supporting investment clients.
This follows a number of recent promotions at Hymans Robertson, with Emma Cameron appointed as the new head of investment consultancy and Kathryn Fleming as head of DC consulting.
Commenting on his new role Ellis says: “The DC market is going through a period of enormous transformation and there is an expanding investment universe available for DC schemes, trustees and members to navigate.
“With the Government seeking the views of the DC market to help make real change in the pensions industry, the next few months look set to be an incredibly busy time. I look forward to working with Alison Leslie and Mark Jaffray, amongst others, to use our combined decades of experience to help our clients deliver better outcomes for their members.”
Hymans Robertson head of DC investment services Alison Leslie adds: “[Ellis’s] experience and understanding of the investment market will be invaluable for his new role. He will play a central role to the growth of the DC business. His skills will enable us to support our clients with the key strategic issues they face whether that is investment, governance or scheme strategy. He also brings experience in asset allocation for large clients – in both DB and DC – which will be invaluable to the team and enables us to continue to grow and expand.”
