Independent Governance Group (IGG) has appointed Jo Holden as the business’s newest trustee director.

Holden joins IGG with more than 20 years of experience in the pensions sector, four of which were spent as a non-executive trustee director of Charterhouse Pensions Limited.

Prior to joining IGG, Holden was head of governance for the HSBC DC Master Trust, she was previously responsible for managing the Bank’s global pension risk exposure.

Holden will focus on effective governance and risk management for pension plans in her new role helping IGG clients. She will be based in both the recently opened Bristol and London offices, where her expertise in the pensions sector positions her to strengthen and enhance both current and future company operations.

Holden says: “I’m really pleased to have joined IGG at such an exciting time for the business and industry at large. Now is a time where many employers are turning to specialist trustees for key decisions about the future of their pension schemes, and the breadth of expertise across the IGG team is unrivalled.

“I’m looking forward to embracing the collaborative culture which IGG promotes to drive positive change and uphold the trust placed in us by pension scheme sponsors and members.”

IGG chief executive officer Andrew Bradshaw says: “Jo joins the IGG team at a pivotal year for the business, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise, particularly in the DC space. DC is a key part of IGG’s service offering and Jo’s experience will be invaluable as we look to innovate in this area.”
