Retirement specialist Just Group is the latest company to be listed as a signatory of the UK Stewardship Code by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).

In order to become a signatory Just Group was required to submit a stewardship report demonstrating in detail how it has applied the Code’s principles in the previous 12 months.  This includes detailing how the company allocates, manages and oversees capital in oder to create long-term value and sustainable benefits to the economy, environment and society.

Just Group has a proven track record when it comes to responsible investments. It was one of the first UK asset owners to join the Principle for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the first UK insurer to issue a green bond. It is already a member of the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance, the Asset Owner Diversity charter and has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Just Group head of responsible investment Nimisha Sodha says:  “As a leading UK insurer, managing more than £24 billion of customers’ retirement savings, we are committed to making a positive impact through our investment activities, leaving a responsible footprint and creating a fairer world.

“Responsible investment brings significant, sustainable benefits for the economy, environment and society. Becoming a signatory of the UK Stewardship Code marks a significant milestone in our commitment to meet our target of being net zero in all our emissions, including our investments, by 2050.”
