Law Debenture expands Dublin office with new trustee appointment

Law Debenture has appointed Sylvia McNeece as a new professional trustee.

McNeece will be based in Dublin in Law Debenture’s Ireland office. She joins from Lane Clark and Peacock where she was a senior governance consultant but has considerable experience working for the regulator.

Prior to joining LCP, McNeece was head of legal in the Pensions Authority for 15 years. The Pensions Authority is Ireland’s main regulator for the occupational and retail pensions sector.  In this role was responsible for the drafting and negotiation of all pensions legislation.

While working for the regulator she also let its project management office, where she was responsible for planning and developing the roadmap for its transition to being a risk-based supervisor. She also represented the Pensiosn Authority regularly in EU fora, and as a member of the Government’s interdepartmental pensions reform and taxation working group, between 2019 and 2024.

Paul Torsney, head of pensions, Ireland at LawDeb Pensions says: “[McNeece] joins as our fourth Dublin-based trustee. Her skills and experience complement those of the existing team, and we look forward to working with her on the continued growth of the business, working with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for members.”

LawDeb Pensions managing director Sankar Mahalingham adds: “It goes without saying that [McNeece] brings a breadth of experience and insight to the business.

“Her addition is a demonstration of our careful team structuring in order to offer effective results for our clients, and cements our reputation as an industry-leading service provider.”
