Legal & General has renewed its partnership with Health Assured to provide an enhanced employee assistance programme.

This new offering will be available on all L&G’s group income protection policies. Those covered will benefit from an increased number of structured counselling sessions. Policyholders will get up to eight sessions for free, either in person, or via an online video or phone services.

In addition, this EAP offers a new mobile app, giving employees access to a range of health and wellbeing resources. These are also available via L&G’s portal, and include monthly webinars, health assessments articles and factsheets.

There is no additional cost to employers for this enhanced service.

As well as providing the employee assistance programmes, Health Assured also offers early intervention programmes and rehabilitation services through L&G’s group income protection policies. The company will also continue to offer a 24/7 confidential helpline and counselling support services.

L&G’s head of employer services, group protection, Chris Ford says: “Through the enhanced features of our EAP we are making it even easier for employees to have access to expert help, and facilitate their return to work more quickly.

“We look forward to working with Health Assured and providing one of the most comprehensive EAP services on the market.”

Health Assured chief executive David Price adds: “We’re delighted to renew our partnership with Legal & General. Having worked together since 2015, we’re confident that our services strengthen Legal & General’s group protection offering by providing supportive, early intervention methods for those who need it.”
