Legal & General has added a range of new services to the ‘virtual clinic’ offered on its group income protection policies.
The new services include online physiotherapy from Teladoc Health, long-term health and wellbeing tools and resources from HCI Digital and a brand new health and wellbeing platform and app through L&G’s new EAP, providers by Spectrum Life.
This virtual clinic has been designed to offer a one-stop shop for employees and their families when it comes to improving wellbeing, preventing health problems and managing long and shorter-term conditions.
These services complement existing support, such as a virtual GP and mental health expertise, including child mental health consultations.
Legal & General launched virtual clinic last year, for existing and new GIP customers. It is provided on a modular basis, to complement any existing wellbeing services the client might have in place and avoid duplication.
Legal & General says this virtual clinic is an important component of the company’s integrated wellbeing support framework: Be Well. Get Better. Be Supported.
This framework brings together the pillars of wellbeing – physical, emotional, social, financial — helping engage employees so that they can take control of their wellbeing.
Legal & General Group Protection head of product and proposition James Walker says that virtual clinic is designed to provide wellbeing support via group income protection. “It’s about ensuring this is not only simplified, joined-up and scalable – bringing more essential support to more people – but also person-centred, acknowledging that wellbeing is subjective, multi-faceted and rests on ensuring people are suitably equipped and engaged.
“All of this is underpinned, as part of the framework, by HR communication support via our Be Well hub, helping improve usage and value; from basic hints and tips on communicating benefits, to more strategic wellbeing communication aligned with overriding business goals.
“It’s also underpinned by access to a valuable analytical tool – in the shape of our exclusive partnership with Fruitful Insights – to help intermediaries support their clients to quantify their wellbeing performance, prioritise investment and enhance effectiveness. In short, a breadth of facilities intermediaries and clients need, in one place.”
