L&G has launched a new single sign-on app for all its group health and wellbeing services in conjunction with Spectrum Life.

Know as Spark, this app offers seamless access to all the preventative services offered through its group life, group income protection and group critical illness products. Those using the app will be guided to the appropriate service via an intelligent booking system (MatchTech). This assesses symptoms to get users to the right care, faster.

In launching the app, L&G has also added a number of additional services, while also extending eligibility for members. All employees and their immediate families will be able to access this app and its services regardless of their chosen group protection product or the percentage of the workforce insured.

New services offered through the app include cancer awareness and support, plus two new care pathways for heart health and menopause aded to long-term condition support.

This is in addition to the health and wellbeing services offered, including the EAP, virtual GP, online physiotherapy, children’s and young people’s mental health assessments and support, second medical opinion, support for long-term conditions such as type 2 diabetes, stroke, long covid and  rheumatoid arthritis.

The app also has a number of wellbeing resources – which include nutrition planning, fitness tracking, self-guided meditation, wellbeing podcasts and a digital gym in addition to help with eldercare and expert financial and legal information services through dedicated helplines.

L&G head of product and proposition, group protection James Walker says: “[Spark] is an incredibly slick and comprehensive one-stop-shop that uses the latest user journey guidance technology to get people to the service they need, fast and effectively. Thanks to Spark, we can now extend our prevention and early intervention support – plus some valuable new ones – to workforces and their immediate families.

“This will bring positive benefits to everyone: for individuals, helping empower them to further manage their own health and wellbeing and for employers, helping reduce absence and presenteeism while improving satisfaction.”

He adds this also supports the government’s latest Keep Britain Working goals. And as well as well as offering access to essential support to improving health outcomes should also reduce pressure on public health services.

Spectrum Life CEO and co-founder Stephen Costello adds: “We’re not just improving access to healthcare – we are rebuilding it for the way people live and work today.

“Through Spark we are transforming the way employees – where their employer has an L&G Group Protection policy – access mental health and primary care services and get instant access to trusted clinical support, making high-quality care just a click away.

“Together, we integrate preventative healthcare directly into protection benefits, guided by our intelligent MatchTech booking engine to ensure people can reach the right support faster.

“Our Virtual Primary Care Platform empowers employees to take control of their health while helping employers strengthen culture, improve retention, and futureproof their benefits.

“As a second-generation digital health provider, our focus is on combining clinical excellence, innovation, and smart technology to change – and ultimately save – lives. This partnership represents a bold leap toward a more connected, accessible future of workplace wellbeing.”
