Legal & General Group Protection has launched a new ‘bitesize’ webinar series designed to support businesses and their employees with workplace wellbeing.
The series — called ‘School of Wellbeing’ — starts in October. They are also targeted at group protection intermediaries who are new to, or lack confidence, in talking about wellbeing issues with clients.
The 35-minute sessions aim to share best practices and information to help employers to connect the dots between wellbeing in their workplace and group protection benefits.
Colin Fitzgerald, distribution director, Legal & General Group Protection says: “The wellbeing needs of UK employers haven’t changed over the last year, but they have certainly been accelerated and now sit squarely as a board-level imperative.
“Accordingly, the insurance industry must evolve and grow. There’s a vital need to place outcomes first; to not only help people back to work when they are absent through illness or injury, but also to help employers prevent absence in the first place – to help support the everyday health and happiness of their people and to be proactive in identifying potential problems and intervening accordingly.
“We know through our regular conversations with intermediaries, working for businesses of all shapes and sizes, that there’s a strong appetite for support here; to help open doors, meet needs and retain clients. This involves a shift to consultancy first, brokerage second. And our new School of Wellbeing is designed to help with that. We look forward to welcoming intermediary partners and employers, old and new.”
