LGIM’s head of DC, Rita Butler-Jones, has announced that she is stepping down from her role following nine years at the firm.
Before joining LGIM, she was the director of business development at Friends Life, the principal consultant at Mercer Investments, and the head of DC at Threadneedle Investments for over eight years.
Earlier this month, the firm announced that its Mastertrust had surpassed £30 billion in assets under management, making it the first commercial master trust in the UK to achieve this milestone. It comes less than two years after it reached £20 billion.
In a LinkedIn post Bulter-Jones said: “The time is right for me to take a break and to step away from full time work to allow me time to consider what I might like to do next. After more than 42 years of full-time employment, the last 9 and a bit of those spent working with and heading up the DC business at Legal & General – I am sad to leave my team however I know they will continue to go from strength to strength.
“Together, we have enjoyed incredible success – growing the business organically and today we are the largest DC Pension Provider in the UK, looking after over 5.4 million members. We’ve recently celebrated exceeding £30bn in our Mastertrust making it the largest commercial Master Trust in the UK.”
