Major employers sign up for heating employee benefit

Employee benefits platform Perkbox is now offering the Heat Scheme to its users, while major employers such as NHS Professionals, The British Film Institute, and JCDecaux have joined as direct partners.

The scheme assists employees in cutting energy expenses and switching to greener energy options.

Employers who wish to cover the upfront costs of green retrofits and heat pump installations can provide their employees with grants or interest-free loans through the Heat Scheme.

The scheme also offers consultations on home upgrades and heating efficiency to help employees make informed decisions about their energy use.

Additionally, the programme is running a promotion to staff with free heating for a year if they switch to clean energy.

JCDecaux payroll and benefits partner Michael McGuire says: “We are continually looking to improve the wellbeing of our staff, which extends to aiding their welfare at home.

“With the significant rise in the average home energy bills, the Heat Scheme benefit scheme will support our staff with reducing their heating bills and increasing comfort at home, while also raising awareness about ongoing emissions and practical steps we can individually take to reduce those emissions.”

Keir Powell-Lewis, British Film Institute’s head of environmental sustainability said: “At BFI we take sustainability seriously and we are continually striving to reduce emissions, from wherever they originate. Working with Heat Scheme supports our staff with reducing their emissions at home as well as their heating bills.”

Patrick Dougherty, director and founder of Heat Scheme said: “One of the reasons large famous employers – such as JCDecaux, The British Film Institute and NHS Professionals – have chosen to adopt Heat Scheme is the positive impact we can have on staff wellbeing at home.

“The advantages of working with employers are clear: they provide a platform to drive staff awareness and offer financing to help them cover the upfront cost of switching to clean energy.”
