Health insurer Medicash has bought health and wellbeing consultancy Health@Work for an undisclosed sum.
This deal was completed at the end of March with the wellbeing team now moved to Medicash’s head office in Liverpool. However, the consultancy will continue to operate under its own brand.
This deal follow a £4m investment in the Now Healthcare Group in 2017. Medicash says this latest merger supports its strategy to develop a more rounded wellbeing offering, and will allow both organisations to take advantage of a wider range of service and product offerings.
Health@Work was established over 25 years ago as a full-service consultancy whose aim is to help companies improve the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees.
Its services include health and safety assessments, policy reviews and training, wellbeing audits, mental health awareness training, health checks, as well as first aid and defibrillator training.
Over the last decade it has developed the nationally recognised Workplace Wellbeing Charter, which has been adopted by organisations such as BAE Systems, Kenwood, Everton Football Club and United Utilities.
Medicash and Health@Work chief executive Sue Weir says: “This merger presents significant advantages and opportunities for both firms.
“With a new board and new executive team, we look forward to exploring the opportunities that these organisations can offer and bringing new products and services to the market in the near future.”
