He has been promoted from the role of sales director within MetLife’s global employee benefits division.
Gaynor joined MetLife in 2011 to focus on new business and retention as well as the day-to-day management of the sales team. Previously he was a national account manager for Unum where he was responsible for driving sales. He has also been a British Army officer.
His promotion follows a series of senior hires, including Andy Stephenson, formerly of Aviva, as employee benefits national sales manager.
MetLife has enhanced its group life protection product with the introduction of an advisory service for bereavement and probate matters and a master trust for SMEs.
It is planning further product launches in 2013 backed by investment from the Global Employee Benefits business.
MetLife UK managing director Dominic Grinstead says: “It is important that we have strong leadership for the employee benefits business as it is such a critical part of our overall strategy for expansion in the UK.”
