User data from Canada Life’s myStrength app reveals that mindfulness is the top mental health tool preferred by UK employees.
The data shows that in 2023 mindfulness activities accounted for 36 per cent of completed tasks, followed by sleep at 27 per cent. Anxiety and stress activities each constituted over 10 per cent, with depression support at 11 per cent.
The top activities completed on myStrength include The Mindful Check-in (15 per cent), Anxiety and Your Emotional Landscape (13 per cent), and Conscious Noticing (12 per cent).
Canada Life head of product and proposition, group protection Jo Turner says: “Now more so than ever, employers have a role to play in proactively supporting their employees in the workplace with their mental health – not just when a medical intervention is required, but with preventative measures to support their overall wellbeing too.
“The myStrength app is just one of the many ways in which employers can help employees take positive steps to improve their quality of life. Whether it is gaining support for a better night’s sleep, or finding moments of peace and quiet within a busy day, it can really help in improving the wellbeing of employees across the country.”
