Nest, Smart Pension and consultancy firm XPS Group have connected to the pensions dashboard programme.
This is the first stage of the dashboards programme, with connection to a centralised dashboard run by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS). This will collate workplace, personal and state pension data from all pension providers. Larger schemes have to connect to this architecture by October this year, with smaller schemes due to connect by October 2026. Consumer testing of the dashboard will begin this summer, which will be expanded from Autumn 2025.
Nest says this connection marks a significant milestone in the scheme’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its service for its more than 13m members.
Smart Pension says this will benefit its 1.5m members. It adds that it is one of a small number of providers using proprietary, in-house technology to connect to the Pensions Dashboard Programme. This is the parent groups Keystone platform.
XPS Group says it has now connected over 600,000 pension scheme members and more than 20 schemes to the pensions dashboard’s central digital architecture, since April 2025. XPS says is among the first large administrators to reach this level of dashboard connectivity, marking a key step for industry readiness.
It is estimated that around two thirds of UK savers across the now hold multiple pension pots from different providers, with this initiative designed to reunite people lost pension pots. The government estimates that the value of ‘lost’ pension pots in the UK now stands at around £31.1bn .
Nest CEO Ian Cornelius says: “This milestone reflects our dedication to innovation and collaboration. We are proud of the hard work and commitment shown by our team and partners in achieving this connection. We look forward to supporting the Money and Pensions Service in the upcoming user testing phase and continuing to enhance our solution for the benefit of our members.”
Smart Pension CEO Jamie Fiveash said:“Over the past decade, we have shown that technology has the power to simplify pension saving for our members. We are excited to be part of the collaborative Pensions Dashboard Programme, which will provide savers with clear, simple and trusted sources of information and help deliver better financial outcomes for all UK savers.”
“Our Keystone platform is scalable, cost-effective and is designed to manage this large-scale, digital infrastructure project seamlessly and at speed.”
XPS managing director of administration David Watkins adds: “We’re delighted to have connected over 600,000 members to pensions dashboards — a key step towards delivering more transparent, accessible pensions for all. This milestone highlights the strength of our technology, expertise, and commitment to improving member outcomes.
“We believe dashboards will transform how people engage with pensions in the UK, and we look forward to helping more schemes meet their connection duties.”
