Richard Lloyd OBE has been named interim chair of the Financial Conduct Authority.
He succeeds Charles Randell CBE, who stepped down as chair yesterday after four years on the job.
In April 2018, Charles Randell was appointed chair of the FCA and Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) Boards. The appointment was for a period of five years. Since April 1, 2022, Aidene Walsh has served as Interim Chair of the PSR. According to the FCA, he will not be relocating to another role.
Lloyd has been a senior independent director, chair of the Board Risk Committee, and chair of the Oversight Committee since joining the FCA Board in April 2019.
Lloyd is also the chair of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority and a member of the Advertising Standards Authority’s Council. He was on the board of the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute as a founding trustee.
Until HM Treasury appoints a permanent successor, Lloyd will serve as chair and according to the FCA, a hiring procedure is underway.
