McGlone says he wants his presidency to focus on member engagement and fostering greater industry-wide collaboration.
McGlone’s two-year term takes effect from 1 June 2018.He joinedAon Hewitt in 1991 and qualified as an actuary in 1994. He has been advising trustees and companies on their pension arrangements for over 25 years and his clients includes a number of household names.
McGlone says: “I would like to offer my sincere thanks to outgoing President Hugh Nolan for his outstanding commitment, hard work, and dedication to the society over the last two years. He has been a great advocate for the organisation at a time where the retirement savings industry has been undergoing immense amount of changes.
“Over the course of my presidency, I would like to build on the work that Hugh has done and focus on our members firms. The society exists solely for the benefit of our members, and to stay relevant in the industry we need to add value to those members and evolve how we do that. Over the coming years we are planning to focus on new media channels to reach new and existing members, and advance our already busy programme of evening meetings, seminars, dinner and conference we hold throughout the year.”
