Matthews is a professional independent trustee and is currently chair of the Royal Mail Pension Plan, the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme, the Siemens Benefit Scheme, the Vodafone Group Pension Scheme and the Civil Aviation Authority Pension Scheme. She will continue to Chair these after her appointment to TPT’s trustee board.She trained as a lawyer and was formerly a partner in a pensions law practice.
Smart leaves to take a role at Avida International, the investment governance organisation.

Under Sarah’s guidance TPT has reinvented itself; launching a new DC offering in 2012, a new strategy positioning it as a DB consolidator in 2015 and a new governance structure in 2016.
“A relentless champion for members, Sarah leaves TPT in great shape. We wish her all the best for the future.”
