Norgrove’s first three year stint expired at the end of 2007 and he will now be at the helm as TPR contributes to the preparation of the ground for the introduction of Personal Accounts and automatic enrolment. His new three year contract will start from 1 January 2008. He will be paid 106,641 per year for the equivalent of three days work per week. Prior to his original appointment David Norgrove held a number of senior positions at Marks and Spencer, including chair of the pension fund trustees from 2000 to 2004.
Secretary of state for work and pensions Peter Hain says: “I am delighted to announce David Norgrove’s reappointment. He has been with the Pensions Regulator from the start and has been instrumental in establishing the regulator as a respected industry body. The regulator has an important new role, monitoring employer compliance with the reforms, whilst continuing to promote good provision and protect members.”
