Nuveen, a global investment manager with $1.3 trillion assets under management, has appointed Harriet Steel as global head of institutional.
She joins from Pemberton, where she was head of global clients and will lead Nuveen’s institutional business growth, oversee sales and client relations teams, and work with a global team of 250+ professionals.
Steel spent over 11 years at Federated Hermes, leading international business development. She also founded Portico Advisors and held roles at Bankers Trust and Morgan Stanley.
Steel will report to Mike Perry, head of the global client group and will also focus on expanding Nuveen’s insurance client segment and managing investments for TIAA’s general account across fixed income, private credit, real estate, and natural capital.
