Only 27 per cent of UK HR leaders feel adequately prepared for leading new HR initiatives, according to a report from YuLife.

It found that the main obstacle faced by HR professionals is leadership resistance, with 68 per cent expressing the need for greater trust in their recommendations.

To drive change successfully, HR should become an integral part of the business, providing valuable insights. Although 85 per cent of HR leaders impact specific areas, only 33 per cent are acknowledged as crucial drivers of business success. The report emphasises the need for HR alignment with broader business goals to boost productivity, retention, and decrease turnover costs.

According to the report, in order to provide value to people management in the current competitive market, modern HR must move from operational chores to strategic stakeholders. With social media trends like #ActYourWage and #QuietQuitting gaining attention, 2024 should concentrate on doable tactics to increase employee satisfaction. Even though employee well-being is prioritised by 63 per cent of HR leaders, only 3 per cent consider their organisation’s well-being to be exceptional.

The report notes that businesses frequently struggle to create a culture that emphasises more equitable, data-driven decisions in the face of an abundance of data. As per the survey, data analytics is regarded by 79 per cent of HR professionals as an essential competence for aspiring transformative leaders. Analytics may convert data into meaningful insights for the general well-being of the company and a customised work environment.

YuLife CEO and founder Sammy Rubin says: “The findings of our latest report point to a significant gap in the training and empowerment of HR leaders. While HR is recognized as an influential role, there is a pressing need to transform it into a central part of driving business success.

“At YuLife, we are committed to empowering HR leaders with the tools and insights necessary to foster a culture of wellbeing and productivity across the board. This report is a call to action for businesses to align HR strategies with broader business objectives, thereby enhancing employee satisfaction and ultimately contributing to the overall success of the organisation.”
