The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) has formed a new strategic partnership with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) to support membership growth and deliver enhanced value to members of both organisations.
The partnership, which will begin a one-year trial phase on January 1, 2023, is anticipated to enhance the CIPP’s expert pension support and offer value for its members.
It will also assist PMI members who perform payroll-related duties as part of their responsibilities and those who want to deepen their expertise of this field on a professional level.
Relevant benefits from both organisations will be included in the new joint membership, including member rates or free attendance at PMI and CIPP courses, conferences, webinars, seminars and other events, digital copies of The PMI’s Technical News and Pensions Aspects magazine along with CIPP’s Professional in Payroll, Pensions and Reward magazine, access to respective regional and special interest groups, opportunity to join PMI’s Mentoring and Development Programme, HMCA member discounts, access to the PMI and CIPP’s pension and payroll online job boards, access to TotumPRO and CIPP Advisory Service – 12 enquiries per year.
PMI director of commerce and engagement Varsha Gicas says: “The collaboration between CIPP and PMI is an exciting new development which will add significant value and benefit to the members of both of our organisations. The Pensions Management Institute has been committed to promoting excellence in pensions practice for over four decades.
“Recently, and especially following the introduction of auto-enrolment, this has expanded to include the function of delivering pensions through Payroll Professionals. This collaboration will allow us to provide CIPP members with access to our expertise and offer expanded benefits and topical exposure to members of both institutes. We look forward to building this partnership further over time.”
CIPP business development director Vickie Graham says: “The CIPP’s collaboration with PMI will deliver significant value to payroll and pension professionals across the UK. Since 1980 the CIPP has supported both payroll and, predominantly, public sector pensions through education, membership and recognition. Through working with PMI, we are able to offer our pensions members access to additional benefits and content which will be valuable in their roles, whilst maintaining the benefits of CIPP membership and content available to them.
“This is an exciting period in the CIPP and PMI history and we are looking forward to supporting our members and giving payroll and pension professionals the recognition that they deserve.”
