The Pensions Policy Institute has appointed Dr Suzy Morrissey to be its new deputy director.
Morrissey was previously director of policy and research for Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission in New Zealand. In this role she led the teams that oversaw various research programme, including reviews of codes of practice, regulations and the statutory three year review of retirement income policies.
Prior to this she held senior roles at NZ Treasury and started her career working for global consulting firms.
PPI director Chris Curry says: “Following an extensive selection and interview process [Morrissey’s] previous experience of leading the policy and research functions at the Retirement Commission in New Zealand and overseeing the three-yearly Review of Retirement Income Policies closely aligned with the work the Institute carries out.”
The PPI is an independent research organisation, which seeks to inform the policy debates around pensions and water life outcomes.
Curry adds: “Morrissey joins the team with a clear understanding of the value of independent, fact-based analysis when informing any policy debates.”
PPI chair of trustees Madeline Forrester adds that Morrissey joins the team at a crucial time for policy around pensions and retirement and the evolution of pensions policy.
