Premier is taking over the investment consulting business of Ormonde Partners and will launch a new division called Premier Investment Consulting Ltd (PICL).
The deal sees Mark Hodgson, a managing director at Ormonde Partners, join Premier. He will report to Paul Couchman, the chair of PICL.
The move completes Premier’s offering for trustees, enabling it to provide a full range of services spanning pensions consulting, secretariat services, actuarial services and an industry recognised administration business. The clients of Ormonde Partners’ investment consulting business, which was acquired from Gatemore Capital Management in 2020, will transition to Premier.
The launch of PICL comes as Premier has increased assets under advice from £7bn to £10bn over the last three years. The company now supports over 120 pension schemes and more than 200,000 scheme.
Prior to Ormonde, Hodgson was a partner at Gatemore and a director of the investment consulting practice at HSBC. Over 11 years, he established Gatemore’s UK business providing asset management and advisory services to pension trustees across the private and charity sectors.
