Punter Southall Aspire CEO joins Oxford Brookes Business School

Punter Southall Aspire’s chief executive, Steve Butler, has been appointed by Oxford Brookes Business School as a visiting industrial fellow.

This scheme was set up by the university’s business school to strengthen its ties with both entrepreneurs and businesses, and allow industry experts to share their knowledge and experience with those starting their careers.

Butler will be on a two-year tenure and says he will focus on the challenges involved in running a professional services organisation. This will include discussion around entrepreneurship, SME funding, equality, diversity and including and managing intergenerational teams.

Butler said: “I’m looking forward to engaging with the students at the business school and supporting links in Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley.”

Professor Tim Vorley, pro vice-chancellor and dean of Oxford Brookes Business School adds: “I am delighted to welcome Steve as a Visiting Industrial Fellow to Oxford Brookes Business School.

“His experiences as an academic researcher, author, business leader, and industry diversity campaigner make him an invaluable addition to the school.”

Butler is a chartered manager and fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He is currently researching for his doctorate in Business Administration at Winchester University, Centre for Responsible Management.

He is a campaigner for developing an inclusive culture in the workplace, regularly writing on intergenerational working, retirement and older worker business management issues.
