Punter Southall Aspire has hired Chris Eyre as an associate director, in a bid to expand its workplace retirement advice service.
Eyre will be associate director of Punter Southall Aspire retirement services division, and has been tasked with expanding the company’s ‘at retirement’ advice service.
Eyre has worked in financial services for the past 30 years, and has been both an IFA and a business development manager for Aviva.
He says: “There is a gap in the market for employers to offer retirement financial advice to their staff and guide them through the financial options available to them when they retire.”
“Currently only around one in five adults takes financial advice at retirement; however, with an ageing population and pension funds getting larger due to more people saving, there is a growing need for guidance and advice. Punter Southall Aspire’s goal is to become one of the UK’s leading players in this market.”
Eyre reports into Gareth Sawyer, managing director of workplace solutions at Punter Southall Aspire and is based at the company’s York office.
Sawyer says: “This team will work with employers to offer guidance or advice to their employees, so they can make informed decisions on how to access their funds in the most appropriate and efficient way and get the best outcome for their retirement.”
“Punter Southall Aspire offers low cost at retirement guidance and advice services for companies wishing to offer their employees help with their pension options. This ranges from guidance around buying an annuity to a fully advised service, depending on the individual needs of the member.”
