Railpen appoints non-executive director

Railpen, which manages the £37bn railway pension schemes, has appointed Maura Sullivan as an independent non-executive director to its board.

Sullivan is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in finance, primarily in the financial services industry. She is currently deputy group CFO at Quilter and maintains a variety of additional non-executive jobs outside of Railpen.

Sullivan spent her 12 years at Credit Suisse and Credit Suisse Asset Management Ltd, the UK part of the global Credit Suisse International Wealth Management divisions, as CFO and executive director. She was in charge of providing accurate, timely, and compliant financial and regulatory reporting, as well as financial planning and tax and treasury strategy monitoring. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Sullivan held positions of increasing responsibility at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase.

Railpen chief executive John Chilman says: “We are delighted to welcome an individual with experience such as Maura’s to the Railpen Board. Our purpose is to secure our members’ future, and Maura’s skills and enthusiasm will further strengthen our ability to deliver our important work on behalf of our members.”

Sullivan says: “I am very pleased to be joining Railpen and the vital work they do for scheme members. I look forward to working with the Board, bringing my voice and experience to their discussions and decisions.”
