SEI is appointed former Vanguard defined contribution head Steve Charlton as DC managing director (EMEA & Asia).
Charlton leaves his former role at Vanguard where he was European DC proposition manager, and will report to Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI’s institutional business in EMEA & Asia.
Charlton will become part of SEI’s institutional leadership team in the UK, responsible for developing and expanding SEI’s DC proposition across EMEA and Asia and growing the SEI DC master trust, which was set up 10 years ago.
With 30 years in the industry, Charlton spent many years in consulting, most recently as principal within Mercer’s DC leadership team.
Disney says: “Steve’s appointment into this newly created leadership role is a clear demonstration of our focus and commitment to DC, in both the UK and other global markets. We are confident that Steve will help us to build on our existing success in the DC market in the U.K., as well as exploring new markets for our proposition.”
Charlton says: “I am delighted to have taken on this new role and to be able to use my experience to build and expand SEI’s existing DC proposition. I am excited about SEI’s expanding opportunity in the U.K. as one of the leading master trust providers, as well as the prospect of exploring new markets for DC. I look forward to working with the team and achieving our goals and objectives for this important area of the pensions market.”
