Simplyhealth adds virtual MSK support solution to health plan

Simplyhealth now offers Phio, a digital physiotherapy solution, to its health plan customers for musculoskeletal (MSK) injury support.

Health plan customers now have access to an MSK treatment pathway, including evaluation, all phases of physiotherapy, and rehabilitation and includes access to discounted in-person physiotherapy appointments with Ascenti.

Simplyhealth’s customisable health plan for businesses is priced at under £5 per employee per month. Customers can access it for as little as £20 a month through Simplyhealth’s 1-2-3 health plan.

Simplyhealth offers customisable health plans for businesses, priced at under £5 per employee per month. Meanwhile individuals can access the service through Simplyhealth’s 1-2-3 health plan starting from just £20 a month.

Phio’s products are available via the Simplyhealth app or website and includes the Phio-Access triage tool, which utilises decision trees created by licensed physiotherapists to connect users with appropriate professional assistance, including in-person visits.

The Phio-Engage digital rehabilitation software offers an alternative to traditional physiotherapy by enabling personalised MSK injury self-management under the supervision of physiotherapists. Its workout regimens focus on improving strength, flexibility, and mobility, adjusting as the body strengthens.

Simplyhealth clinical product executive Bryony Rhodes-Wort says: “We know the current pressure on the NHS means that patients are facing delays for MSK services – from consultation through to treatment.

“With around three-in-10 working Brits reporting back and muscle pain, employers have a responsibility to protect the MSK health of their workforce, which is exactly why we’re proud to build our pathway further through our partnership with Phio.

“By addressing muscle and joint pain quickly and effectively, employers will help staff avoid things getting worse. In providing access to comprehensive assessments, we can ensure that people are directed to the right source of care and return to work in full health more quickly.”

EQL co-founder and CEO Jason Wardb says: “This is a landmark partnership between two leading companies in the workplace healthcare market. Over the coming months and years we expect that this collaboration will deliver significant improvements to the mental and physical wellbeing of the UK workforce.

“With the help of Phio, Simplyhealth customers who sustain muscle injuries or suffer from joint pain can now be supported along the optimal path to recovery with speed and convenience. Our team is looking forward to continuing to work with Simplyhealth on our mission to ensure equal access to the best MSK care.”
