Smart has appointed Josef Pilger to the new role of senior adviser to help, an international role that is designed to support further expansion of the firm’s technology platform.
Pilger has most than three decades of experience in the global retirement and pensions industry, and has worked with financial institutions and governments in more than 30 countries.
He was based in Australia for a number of years, with his most recent role being the global pension and retirement leader for EY. He has also worked as a chief operating officer and pension trustee director for a master trust.
Across these various roles Smart said Pilger had played a key role supporting the development, design, and implementation of effective systems to meet the growing global demand for financial security in retirement.
It says this experience marries with the progress of Smart’s Keystone technology which is designed to help government and financial services clients digitally transform workplace retirement systems.
Pilger is also an established speaker and author on pensions and retirement, bringing a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to this role.
Smart co-founder and group CEO Andrew Evans says: “[Pilger’s] extensive experience in global pensions and retirement systems will be instrumental in helping us navigate the ever-changing landscape of retirement savings and ensuring our Keystone platform remains at the cutting edge, delivering for our partners and their citizens and customers across the globe.”
