Sue Khashouf has been named as director of proposition at master trust Smart Pension.

In her new role, Khashouf will lead Smart Pension’s retirement and pension wellbeing offering, which serves 2 million savers and more than 100,000 employers across the UK.

She joins from Citi Bank. Most recently with Citi’s Payments business, she was responsible for delivering client value, business transformation and sustainable growth, and accelerating digital-first capabilities across all commercial card products.

She will be expected to bring a global perspective and a results-driven leadership style that will help accelerate Smart Pension’s growth and enhance the value it delivers to members.

Khashouf says: “Smart Pension has built a strong reputation for putting its members and employers at the heart of retirement saving, and I’m excited to join at such a pivotal time for the business.

“There is an opportunity to continue building on strong foundations to develop a retirement and pension wellbeing offering that further strengthens member outcomes, supporting the financial wellbeing of savers and their employers.”

Launched in 2015, Smart Pension now exceeds £10bn in assets under management. It is powered by Keystone, Smart’s global savings and investments technology platform.
