Retirement fintech platform Freedom has named Damian Stancombe as its chief executive officer.
Stancombe was previously a partner at Barnett Waddingham and is the founder of 60 Paydays to Retirement, a financial wellbeing initiative focused on retirement. He has held several senior roles in the pensions sector, including at Hymans Robertson and Punter Southall Group.
Freedom offers tools to support flexible retirement and member engagement. The appointment signals a focus on expanding its proposition in the decumulation space.
Stancombe says: “Freedom was a meeting of minds that dragged me away from my own freedom of retirement… Recognising the power in the proposition to make a positive impact on the retiree that I have talked so long about. This is the start of a global change to how we help the biggest growing cohort in the world.”
