Telus Health Wellbeing launches in the UK

Telus Health has launched Telus Health Wellbeing which aims to provide working individuals in the UK with personalised and flexible workplace health benefits plans.

The service, integrated into existing health benefits programs, emphasises personalisation, flexibility, and digital support. It offers integration with 300+ wearable health devices, including Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin, and more.

This provides employees with personalised digital tools and resources for their well-being journey, including real-time health risk assessment, goal setting and activity tracking, overall health measurement with a wellbeing score, collaboration tools for sharing tips and ideas, and access to informative articles and videos covering various health aspects.

Additionally, Telus Health Wellbeing complements the company’s existing total health services, such as EAPs, virtual care, virtual pharmacy, and mental health counselling, which currently serve 67 million individuals worldwide.

According to the Telus Mental Health Index report for April 2023, employers face an annual cost of £150bn due to productivity losses related to personal and family health issues, equating to £1,000 per employee.

Additionally, 60 per cent of employees experience anxiety symptoms and 56 per cent report symptoms of depression.

Telus Health managing director EMEA Philip Mullen says: “Our Mental Health Index found that 33 per cent of Brits have changed their career goals since the pandemic, the most out of every other nation, with factors including the cost-of-living crisis, wellbeing, and mental health all at play.

“In this tight labour market where economic inactivity levels reach record highs, it’s vital that employers work on retaining talent as well as attracting it. Focusing on health and wellbeing is a key facet to elevating today’s workplace and ensuring employees are well-supported.

“That’s why we have launched TELUS Health Wellbeing in the UK, to put health into the hands of more working Brits through their employers. Through digital tools including the ability to measure overall health with a wellbeing score and collaboration tools to connect with colleagues, employees can feel educated, engaged, and inspired to improve their health and achieve personal wellbeing goals.

“In turn, this will have massive benefits for the workplace with improved productivity, connectivity between colleagues and a health-focused culture.”
