The rebranding will be phased, with the new identity coming into use at the beginning of 2009. The new brand will also bring together the general insurance broker companies of Venture Preference to form a major financial services provider under a single brand offering expertise in financial advice, consultancy and insurance broking.

Following the introduction of the new brand in January 2009, John Simmonds, currently chief executive of Advisory Services, the Axa-owned business which owns Thinc, PIFC and SBJ Benefit Consultants, will become chief executive of Bluefin Advisory Services and Stuart Reid, currently chief executive of Venture Preference, will become chief executive of Bluefin Insurance Group.

Simmonds says: ‘We are focused on building a highly professional organisation providing quality advice and service to our clients and the launch of Bluefin is an important milestone for us.

“We have made significant acquisitions in the last eighteen months as we continue to expand our presence in wealth management, corporate benefit consultancy and financial advice.”
