Unum appoints former Allianz chief to board

Unum has appointed Jon Dye as an independent non-executive director.

Dye is currently CEO of Hiscox, a role he took on in September 202. Prior to this he was the CEO of Allianz for eight years. In this role he helped expand the company, particularly through the acquisition of the general insurance businesses of both LV= and Legal & General.

Dye has extensive board experience as an executive, which includes the role of chair at the Association of British Insurers.

Unum says they Dye has a comprehensive understanding of digital development, growth strategy and risk in highly regulated, data-driven environments — which would probe invaluable for Unum.

Unum CEO Mark Till says: “[Dye] is a recognised and respected leader in the insurance industry with a strong record of delivering significant change in business scale, structure and capability. We are looking forward to working together on Unum UK’s values-driven strategy and growth ambitions.”
