Unum UK has launched a new platform connecting its group protection and new cash plan products, which offers employers instant access to secure service usage data and health trends.
The platform, UnumSync, enables employers to access tools, resources and real-time information to simplify benefits administration.
These tools include faster claims and absence management submissions, a live web chat function, health and wellbeing support and a personalised dashboard for each employer showing relevant information on how employees are using their Help@hand app.
Unum says this new digital platform has been designed for speed, clarity and ease of use, with centralised access to benefits information. It adds that robust security protocols enable secure submission and information saving.
Unum UK head of proportion development Saumya Barber says: “As rising sickness absence continues to impact productivity, employers need a smarter way to streamline support and drive positive outcomes.”
She says many employers struggle with “limited visibility” into emerging health trends as they have multiple products and systems to navigate.
Unum says the launch of this new platform was in response to customer and advisers feedback about the challenges of navigating different digital systems. Last year Unum already launched a single online employer portal for group protection customers, which it says 89 per cent of active users now use to submit claims and 63 per cent to make rehabilitation referrals digitally.
The company says UnumSync says builds on this and encompasses its new cash plan product, Health Plan 360.
Barber adds: “Employers want to support the health and wellbeing of their workforce and prevent issues before they escalate, but without the right tools it’s difficult to turn benefit investment into impact.
“UnumSync brings everything into one seamless experience – making it easier for managers to access the insights they need to stay ahead, make smarter decisions, and focus on what matters most, their people.”
