Vebnet sales director James Verner has been dismissed by parent Standard Life following the conclusion of an internal investigation.
Verner was suspended at the end of May, at the same time as Standard Life’s former managing director of corporate solutions Gerry O’Neill.
No details have been disclosed of the reason for Verner’s dismissal. O’Neil, who was previously chief executive of Vebnet, the benefits technology provider bought by Standard in 2008 for £24m, has left the company ’to pursue other interests’.
He had been relieved of his duties after the launch of Standard’s Lifelens proposition in February.
Standard says its corporate business will continue to develop under the leadership of Stephen Ingledew, managing director, corporate, at standard Life.
A spokesperson for Standard Life says: “James Verner has been dismissed by Standard Life following the conclusion of an internal process. We would like to reassure advisers and customers that there has been no impact on our operations as a result of this process and there will be no impact in the future.”
