The introduction of private market assets into DC pensions is designed to support better retirements for today’s employees.
This webinar brought together Wendy Davis, director of group pensions at supermarket giant Sainsbury’s and Jayesh Patel, head of UK DC distribution at L&G, in conversation with Corporate Adviser editor John Greenwood where they explored what bringing private markets into DC means for employers.
Issues for the debate included:
- What baseline understanding of private markets is typical amongst UK employers and how do their perceptions change as they learn more about them?
- What sort of process do employers go through when deciding whether private market assets are right for their workforce?
- What reaction does the introduction of private market assets bring from employees/colleagues? Do they support the ‘backing Britain’ narrative?
- Has the Government’s involvement in the private markets agenda created any negativity, and if so how can that be combatted?
- How are providers approaching the opportunities for communicating tangible investments being made in the UK and elsewhere?
- How are providers communicating the complexities of private markets in relation to risk, valuations, transparency and charges?
