Vidett Group has bought corporate governance specialists Bridgehouse Company Secretaries for an undisclosed sum.

Bridgehouse was founded in 2005 by Ibi Eso, who will continue to lead the business. It specialises in outsourced corporate governance, risk and regulatory compliance services.

Trustee and governance firm Vidett says this acquisition will enable both firms to offer a wider range of services,  while also delivering efficiencies through shared technology, tools and systems.  It adds this should help its clients develop effective boards and deliver future value.

Vidett’s Group’s chief executive officer Wayne Phelan says: “Together, we’ll bring an unrivalled pool of knowledge and experience to support clients’ governance needs and will enhance our ability to be the employer of choice in a competitive governance market.”

He says the acquisition shows the firm’s ambition to be a leader in the governance market.

Ibi Eso, Bridgehouse managing director adds: “This acquisition is a positive step for my team at Bridgehouse. Being part of a stronger, more resilient business means we can invest for our future – in services, technology and people.”
