Trustee and governance firm Vidett has appointed Alison Hatcher as head of trusteeship.
Hatcher recently stepped down as non-executive director at The Pensions Regulator, where she provided commercial and industry insight to the board. Prior to this she was CEO of HSBC Retirement Services where she led a multi-disciplinary team to build a digital wealth platform integrating AI and open banking.
She has more recently been acting as an independent consultant within the industry, working on a range of projects including advising on scheme consolidation and transition to master trusts, covering complex regulatory and commercial requirements.
Hatcher has extensive experience in the pensions industry including asset management, pension structuring (DB, DC and consolidators) and digital platforms. She is also an accredited professional trustee, a former NED of the PLSA and one of the founders of Women in Pensions.
Vidett is the UK’s largest professional trustee and pension governance firm by number of clients and trustee directors. Commenting on this appointment Vidett’s CEO Wayne Phelan said: “[Hatcher’s] background and experience will help us continue to provide member-focused outcomes for the schemes we work with and help shape Vidett into the future as the professional trustee market matures.”
He adds: “We aim to be a leading voice shaping the industry as regulation and the needs of corporate sponsors change. Her wide knowledge and experience will be key in developing and delivering our vision for the future and hugely beneficial to our clients and team.”
Hatcher adds: “This is an exciting time for the pensions industry. With a focus on delivering true member value, embracing innovative thinking and scale through collaboration.
“The value of a professional trustee is significant in these times when governance meets innovation with our ability to evaluate risk to offer true value to members.”
