Vitality has launched its discounted weight loss benefit with Boots, following the announcement of the partnership in March.
The new benefit gives qualifying members up to 25 per cent off the Boots Online Doctor Weight Loss Service and includes a clinical eligibility assessment.
The assessment includes prescribing and ongoing medical oversight, behavioural and lifestyle support from qualified coaches, nutritionists and dietitians. Members will also have access to progress tracking tools as well as a 12-month aftercare programme.
Vitality says higher discounts are available to members who maintain healthier lifestyles and physical activity.
The partnership is expected to expand further this year with additional health and wellbeing services for members.
VitalityHealth Deputy CEO Katie Tryon says: “Making this benefit available to our members today is about supporting sustainable, long-term health improvement. Weight management is one of the biggest drivers of future claims and preventable ill health, and we see the opportunity we have here to address it.
“By combining Boots’ trusted clinical expertise with Vitality’s behavioural science‑led model, we will support more members to manage their weight in a way that actively reduces health risks and future costs, rather than treating weight loss as a short‑term intervention.”
Boots chief healthcare officer Jamie Kerruish says: “We’re delighted to see the first stage of our partnership with Vitality now live, helping more people access clinically led weight management support through the Boots Online Doctor Weight Loss Service.
“We know that sustainable weight management requires more than medication alone, which is why our service combines expert clinical care with behavioural, nutrition and lifestyle support designed to help people build healthier long-term habits. We look forward to continuing to work with Vitality to expand access to trusted healthcare services for members in the months ahead.”
