Vitality enhances MI data for clients

Vitality Health is launching a new management information (MI) pack for it corporate clients.

This improved data pack will include monthly reports giving detailed information on employees’ and dependants’ health and wellbeing. This will include any lifestyle of clinical risk factors, the impact on productivity, plus industry-wide segmentation comparisons, using Britain’s Healthiest workplace data.

This data will be comparable on a year by year basis.

In addition clients will get a breakdown on claims performance, including plan demographics, high claims, breakdown of physiotherapy and mental health claims and Vitality GP usage.

Tables provided will also show the claim incurred and paid, broken down by size, age band, type and hospital provider.

Vitality says these new MI packs will give intermediaries and clients unprecedented understanding of what has happened in terms of the PMI claims performance. Crucially it will give them the opportunity to look at  emerging future risks and what interventions and support might be needed for members. It will also give clients the ability to track the effectiveness and return on investment for health and wellbeing.

Vitality said this of increasing use to clients in an environment of low unemployment, high turnover of staff and skills shortages. There is increasingly support for wellbeing initiatives, however, in recent Vitality research – in conjunction with Britain’s Healthiest Workplaces – 67 per cent of respondents said they don’t measure return on investment at all.

VitalityHealth corporate business director Pippa Andrews says: “Data is king,  and that’s where we – in partnership with consultants – can add value.

“We can help companies track employee health and wellbeing over time: particularly the Vitality Age gap (a measure of how healthy employees are in relation to their actual age) and how many individuals are high, medium and low risk.

“By combining MI and BHW data we can look at the multi-faceted impact of a company’s health and wellbeing programme.”

She adds that consultants can use this data to help identify the main risk factors and work with the Vitality At Work team to produce tailored solutions.”
