Wood, who has been non-executive chairman of JLT Benefit Solutions for the last two years and was formerly CEO of Paternoster and Prudential UK, takes up his new post on 1st January 2013.
Howorth’s responsibilities in Asia will span risk, insurance and employee benefits. He will remain International Chairman of Employee Benefits in addition to his regional responsibilities in Asia. He replaces Warren Merritt, who is leaving JLT to pursue other opportunities.
Wood says: “JLT has an exciting future in the UK market and I look forward to building on the past success of the business.”
Howorth says: “Employee benefits represents more than 20 per cent of JLT Group profits. The UK business is well positioned for the future and I look forward to building our international franchise.”
