WPA launches ‘fast track’ skin support pathway

WPA is expanding access to dermatology care with the launch of its new Fast Track Skin Support Pathway in partnership with MySkinDoctor.

The web-based service allows customers to receive a consultant dermatologist diagnosis and personalised treatment plan within three working days without needing a GP referral.

The MySkinDoctor app allows customers to upload photos of skin concerns, ranging from acne, eczema and rosacea to mole or lesion changes, and receive a consultant-led care plan. Additionally, a private prescription can be issued at the customer’s cost where clinically appropriate.

The pathway is available 24/7 for adults and children and does not affect policy excesses, annual benefit limits or no-claims discounts. Additionally,  in-person consultations can be arranged through WPA’s standard claim pre-authorisation process.

The pathway builds on WPA’s existing mental health, cancer and musculoskeletal pathways. According to WPA, customers benefit from rapid reassurance, direct access to specialist care, unlimited use without impacting policy terms, 24/7 availability and support for all insured family members, including children under 16.

WPA chief customer officer Sharon Shier says: “Our pathway strategy is about easing worries, giving customers fast, convenient access to expert care when they need it most. Skin Support adds another dimension to our digital healthcare offering, helping individuals and families feel confident that professional advice is always available.”
