WTW has acquired the US-based alternative investment manager FlowStone Partners.
FlowStone specialise in investments into private equity secondaries for both institutional investors and high net worth clients.
WTE says this will this acquisition will expand access to these specialist investments for its clients.
This acquisition comes as there is a move in both the US and the UK for pension firms to broaden their asset base and diversity into private markets. This has also been matched by a move from wealthier individuals to look at private market opportunities.
WTW global head of investments Diya Luke says acquisition “meaningfully expands” WTW’s ability to deliver differentiated private market solutions, by pairing FlowStone’s expertise in secondaries investing with the firm’s global scale, sourcing network and research engine.
WTW head of investment North America Nimisha Srivastava adds: “By unlocking access to high-quality, private markets through liquid, accessible structures, this acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver best-in-class solutions for individual and institutional investors alike – helping more people achieve stronger long-term outcomes.”
The transaction is subject to the approval of the shareholders of FlowStone’s managed fund and the fund’s independent trustee board, as well as other customary closing conditions.
WTW said it expected to complete these steps by early 2026.
