Canada Life Group Insurance is partnering with Axa PPP Healthcare to provide employee support services to its 2.7m insured employees across 23,500 employer-funded schemes.
The arrangement takes effect from 1st January 2017 and will see Axa PPP Healthcare deliver its EmployeeCare EAP, bereavement counselling and probate helpline.
Canada Life Group Insurance schemes will also get access to health risk assessment services through the Axa PPP Healthcare Health Gateway platform and app and BusinessCare, offering online and telephonic support for employers across employment law and HR best practice.
Canada Life marketing director Paul Avis says: “We believe we should offer much more than purely just a financial benefit. Employees who are looking to stay healthy can use the new, online ‘Health Gateway’ or the EmployeeCare ‘Health at Hand’ telephonic support, while those who need emotional assistance or information, whatever stage their lives are at, can be brilliantly supported by the EmployeeCare EAP. It is worth pointing out that these services are confidential, available and free to use for all employees – whether insured or not – allowing us to really promote their usage within the workplace.
“Those recently bereaved can get practical and emotional support through our bereavement counselling and probate helpline services, but we should not forget who pays our premiums either. For employers we are providing BusinessCare, to support organisations and make sure they are compliant with the law, trade safely and provide best practice HR. We have combined both employee and employer benefits to augment our financial products.
“Axa PPP Healthcare is the perfect partner as a positive, forward-looking supplier to help us achieve genuine employee engagement at no additional cost to the policy premium. We look forward to working with them in the evolution of our shared vision.”
Axa PPP Healthcare head of partnership development Gavin Shay says: “For employers to benefit from a productive and healthy workforce, employees need to know that they can get fast access to professional support when they need it. We look forward to providing this essential support – whether it’s immediate access to expert counselling or to information and guidance on everyday issues such as family care, legal and housing matters – to employers that have chosen that have Canada Life Group Insurance.”
