Tom Chalkley has been named as a business development director at Standard Life, joining from Isio.

Chalkley had been with Isio since 2011, when it was part of KPMG UK. He has been a DC pensions consultant at the firm since 2015, having previously been an actuarial consultant.

Writing on LinkedIn, Chalkley says: “It was a fantastic experience working in both Isio’s Birmingham and London offices, making some great friendships along the way. Thank you to all at Isio over the years, I hope to keep in touch and wish you all the best for the future.

“When the opportunity came to join Standard Life, there was no hesitation. Having worked with them while at Isio, they bring lots of great energy and ideas to the market. Looking forward to getting started and meeting the team.”

Standard Life head of new business Steph Coventry says: “[Chalkley] brings a wealth of experience across workplace pensions and a deep understanding of the consultant market. His expertise and relationship-led approach will be a real asset as we continue to support employers, trustees and advisers and build trusted partnerships across the market.”

Chalkley’s official last day at Isio was 31 July, and he is expected to start in his role at Standard Life immediately.

Standard Life has continued to grow its workplace business in recent years.  In 2025, it recorded net inflows of £5.3bn and added nearly 250,000 new customers, reflecting increasing demand from employers and pension savers for support with long-term financial wellbeing.
