Howden rebrands Punter Southall Health & Protection

Punter Southall Health & Protection will be rebranded as Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing, following its acquisition by the group. 

Howden – which is owned by Hyperion Insurance Group – purchased this employee benefits consultancy earlier this year, along with its trading subsidiaries Red Arc and Psyon. 

Howeden says this acquisition significantly expands its international employee benefits and wellbeing capability, giving its clients a greater choice of products, services and technology.

The newly-integrated group will be led by Glenn Thomas, Howden’s Employee Benefits & Wellbeing’s managing director and global practice leader. 

Paul Johnston, chief executive of Punter Southall Health & Protection has been appointed as Howden UK’s chief technology officer and John Dean, former chief commercial officer has become executive director within Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing. 

Thomas says: “This is a milestone acquisition for Howden that will strengthen our UK and international growth strategy.  Punter Southall Health & Protection is an established market leader in employee benefits and wellbeing consulting. 

“There are many great synergies between our companies in terms of values and our approach to business. We know that businesses are looking for greater choice and our different approach means we can deliver that.”

He adds that clients now now have access to a range of  innovative employee benefits and wellbeing solutions and services, including Havensrock Med24, a 24-hour GP service, the NHS-approved mental health app Havensrock Thrive, and the RedArc specialist nursing services. In addition clients can access the employee benefits technology and data analytics solutions, delivered by Psyon.
