Corporate Adviser editor John Greenwood was named pensions trade journalist of the year at the Headline Money awards last night, picking up the award for the sixth time in eight years.
Corporate Adviser columnist James Coney, personal finance editor of The Sunday Times, won the award for Commentator of the Year.
Headline Money is considered the leading award in the personal finance journalism sector, with judges drawn from across national and trade media, PR companies and providers.
Teamspirit won the award for PR Agency of the Year, while the PLSA’s Retirement Living Standards campaign won the award for Best Thought Leadership Initiative.
Judges said: “John submitted three well-researched and interesting stories that confirm his ability to spot themes and that are consistently on point for his professional readership,” one judge commented.
“John is a seasoned B2B journalist and has obviously been there and done that and clearly knows his stuff when it comes to the pensions industry. That said, you still have to deliver year-in, year-out to win awards like these and that’s just what he’s managed to do on this occasion. We can only judge what’s in front of us and the feature on master trusts was particularly good.”
Greenwood said: “Thanks to the judging panel for picking me – it means a lot to be recognised by your peers. And thanks to all my contacts, both off and on the record, without whom I wouldn’t be able to deliver the content and stories that I do.”
