Healix launches digital healthcare support for employees without PMI

Healix Health Services has launched a new low-cost digital health benefit offering employees ‘accelerated’ access to clinical support services.

Healix says the new products has been designed to bridge the benefit gap between no healthcare and a full PMI offering, and is available for a ‘fraction’ of the cost of a traditional PMI policy.

The product, called Healix ConneX, offers a access to a digital triage through an app. This offers employees accelerated access to mental health, musculoskeletal (MSK), virtual GP and wellbeing services, via a digital ecosystem of online portals and conversational AI tools. This includes chatbots that can offer immediate support and targeted therapy in a much more streamlined process.

 Healix says this can offer a real benefit to employees, particularly with NHS waiting lists increasing as a result of the Covid pandemic. It points out that almost 39 million workdays lost through work related illnesses every year.

Healix ConneX offers clinical oversight through its triage option. It says once employees have received their diagnosis, members can self-manage their own recovery with appropriate advice or be integrated into the NHS for long-term treatment if necessary.

Healix is offering two levels of service:  Healix ConneX Triage and Healix ConneX Care. With the latter option employers can add emotional wellbeing therapy and physiotherapy sessions on top of the standard triage package. Healix ConneX is a whole workforce solution available to all businesses regardless of whether they are currently part of a Healix healthcare trust. 

This is a subscription-based service, which Healix says can be rolled out quickly and at scale.

Healix CEO Ian Talbot says: “The healthcare sector has been under intense pressure as a result of the pandemic. We were in a position to help tackle this problem and wanted to provide a solution that allowed employees to deal with any issues head on, cutting through the waiting times for any initial consultations and diagnoses and speeding up their ability to access the right support. 

“The last two years have also highlighted the importance of early intervention for MSK and mental health which why it was important for us to create a low-cost solution available to all that would still offer some of the advantages of traditional private healthcare.”
