The Pensions Regulator’s (TPR) Board has appointed Alison Hatcher as a new non-executive director.

Hatcher was chosen to join the Board with effect from August 1 after an open hiring process. The position is will be held until May 2027. A vacancy developed when Sarah Smart, a non-executive director on the TPR Board, was selected to serve as its chair.

Hatcher serves as CEO of the company that supports the HSBC Master Trust, HSBC Retirement Services Limited. She formerly served as the Client Strategy team’s Global Head of Pensions. Women in Pensions, a trade association with members representing the majority of pension plans worldwide, was founded by Alison as one of its founding members. She is a member of the Warwick University investment subcommittee, the PLSA Diversity Advisory Board, and the Efama Pensions Standing Committee.

The Pensions Regulator chair Sarah Smart says: “I warmly welcome Alison’s appointment. She brings a wealth of experience to our Board in pensions, investment and diversity. Her contribution will be of particular value as we work to ensure TPR continues to put the saver at the heart of everything we do while driving value for money in a fair and diverse pensions industry.”
